A collection of vignettes illustrating a typical Tuesday at a dive bar in New York City, and how the eccentric characters who inhabit the space interact.
irregular is a movie that encapsulates the essence of life in New York City through the lens of a bartender. In this Coffee and Cigarettes/High Maintenance/Clerks inspired, black and white mashup, we experience the inner workings of people who spend their Tuesday afternoons at the shittiest dive bar in the East Village.
The story revolves around an unnamed Bartender character, his seemingly never-ending stomach issues and his relationships with the regular and non regular patrons. Their lives are aired out to dry in an honest chronicling of whatever semblance of humanity we all have left.
Intrigue ensues at the beginning of each vignette, but by the end we know exactly who these people are and can easily relate them to someone seen in any dive bar in the world. It should be easy to figure out who can and who cannot be trusted when the sun goes down.
